Chef LeLa Becker
Chef LeLa Becker, founder of The Wild Bakery, discovered her passion for food at an early age. While most children brought traditional lunches to school, she arrived with carefully packed sushi already drawn to flavor, detail, and experience beyond the ordinary. Known in her youth as the “flour child,” she was often found quietly experimenting, sneaking tastes of bread and pastries, and developing an intuitive connection to the craft that would later define her career.
Deeply influenced by her upbringing, Chef LeLa pursued studies in Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, and holistic healing. This path led her to India, where she trained and worked in an Ayurvedic kitchen, gaining a profound respect for food as both nourishment and medicine. In 2017, she became Head Chef at Syvatantrya Temple, a vegan eatery in Denton, Texas, where she refined her leadership and culinary voice. Driven not just to practice her craft, but to master it, she completed her formal culinary training in 2023.
Her vision has always been clear: to create a space rooted in integrity where ingredients are sourced directly from the land, tomatoes are picked at peak ripeness, and herbs are cultivated with intention. That vision began to take shape at The Cabin in Green Bank, West Virginia, and evolved further through her presence at the New Mexico farmers’ markets, where she introduced her work to the Northern New Mexico community.
Today, Chef LeLa rises before dawn to shape and ferment naturally leavened sourdough and craft delicate, flaky pastries—each one designed as both nourishment and experience.
The Wild Bakery is the realization of that vision. It is a place where food, nature, and community intersect a thoughtful expression of seasonality, wellness, and artistry. Every product reflects a commitment to quality, creativity, and connection.
Here, freshness is foundational, creativity is essential, and hospitality is intentional.
For those seeking a refined yet grounded culinary experience, The Wild Bakery offers something truly distinctive—crafted with purpose, rooted in nature, and designed to be remembered.
